Writing the bias line before the engulfing

Bullish engulfing patterns look decisive on a textbook slide. In a timed drill they arrive as a growing body that may or may not finish the job. Participants who wait for perfection write nothing; participants who guess early write “engulfing” with three minutes left on the clock and then erase furiously.

The bias line

We ask for a provisional sentence at the halfway mark of the forming bar: direction lean, what would invalidate it, and whether prior context supports follow-through. That line can be wrong. It cannot be blank if you plan to claim the pattern later.

Why erasure matters

Erasing is part of the practice. Seeing how often an early engulfing call dies before the close teaches patience better than another lecture on confirmation. Weekend intensives spend an entire afternoon on this discomfort.

Carry it to your desk

You do not need our timer at home. Pause a replay at the midpoint of a wide bar and force the sentence. Then let the bar finish. Compare. The gap between those two moments is where most impulsive entries hide.
