How we choose historical bars for drill nights

Clients sometimes ask why a drill night features 2019 sterling crosses or a quiet KOSPI week from last spring. The answer is pedagogical, not nostalgic.

Variety of auction types

A good evening mixes a trending stretch, a range-bound grind, and at least one gap or news scar. If every chart is a textbook trend, traders leave overconfident. If every chart is chaos, they leave cynical.

Instrument familiarity

We bias toward markets the seated group actually watches. A room full of equity swing traders gets daily bars with earnings footprints; an FX-heavy lab leans on session opens. Private critiques reverse the logic — we follow your charts wherever they lead.

Avoiding spoilers

Sequences are chosen so follow-through is not famous on social media timelines. The reveal should surprise a little. That surprise is what makes the written bias line feel real.

Your part

When you request a seat, tell us the timeframe you live in. We cannot rebuild the whole library for one visitor, but we can avoid loading three-minute scalp noise for someone who only journals weekly bars.
